The implementation has been announced in 2007 by the real estate regulatory Agency (RERA) in Dubai, under the provision of law 26 of 2007 by RERA.

The purpose of EJARI is to protect the legal rights of all parties involved in the Tenancy Contract and avoid any potential issues and disputes between Owners and tenants. How to get your EJARI registered
Tenants and Landlords are responsible to register EJARI, but the most common scenarios are showing that Tenants are more aften running the registration formalities of EJARI in Dubai since they use it in all process related to their DEWA, Visas, dependent visas and Bank Accounts residency information update and more.
The Registration of EJARI costs AED 220, and can get completed through any certified typing center in Dubai. Some of those centers are located in Al Tawar Center, Al Manara Center, AL Barsha Mall, Oud Metha and more. The EJARI counter is always operating from 8AM to 8PM from Sunday to Thursday, and 9AM to 2PM on Saturdays.
Required Documents for registration
- Original Signed Tenancy Contract
- Tenant’s Passport (for non-GCC nationals)
- Tenant’s UAE Visa (for non-GCC nationals)
- Tenant’s Emirates ID
- Landlord Passport Copy
- Title Deed Copy
- Valid Power of Attorney Copy if the contract is signed by a POA holder.
- DEWA Premises Number that contains 9 Digits
- DEWA bill and previous Ejari if you are renewing
- Trade license (in the case of commercial properties)
Once you complete the registration, you will receive an contract by the certified typing center as well as a verifiable soft copy by email that contains a Unique EJARI ID Number which will be needed for the registration of DEWA Account that nowadays can be completed online.
EJARI registration can be also completed through the Mobile App which is available on both Google Play and App store for download. Get it downloaded, register your Emirates ID, Passport Copy and Visa, and start uploading the required documents.
